Caring for Leather Shoes

Good leather shoes can last a decade. Ten minutes a month is all it takes.

Rest them

Leather needs a day to dry out after wear. Rotate two pairs and use cedar shoe trees.

Clean, then feed

Brush off dust, wipe with a barely damp cloth, then work in a little cream with a soft cloth.

Keep them out of the rain

If they get wet, stuff them with newspaper and let them dry slowly away from heat.
